Anastasia Beverly Hills is a brand that is taking over the beauty industry at the moment with an outstanding reputation for fabulous, high quality and cruelty free makeup. The Modern Renaissance palette by ABH was one of my top 5 palettes to try this year and I’ve been absolutely dying to get my hands on this baby so I can see for myself what all the fuss is about.
Apart from the super great reviews, the one thing that really drew me to this palette is the fact it packs in 14 shades, including some gorgeous berry toned hues inside. On first impressions, the palette itself is very easy on the eye and I think that the velvety pink caseing is so unique yet so beautiful all at the same time. I’m not sure how long it will stay that way mind, as it does seem to pick up dirt easily and will likely be difficult to clean. I do think it looks super gorgeous though, and it is definitely a palette to be showing off on your dressing table. The palette features a good sized mirror, magnetic closing and contains a very decent ABH double ended eyeshadow brush to apply your new shadows with. Although, i do tend to opt for other eyeshadow brushes I own to use with this palette over the actual ABH brush because I feel they blend the product better. The Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette certainly gets five stars from me for visual appearance, it certainly looks high end and it is super stylish. However, what I was really interested in was how well this product lived up to its reputation and my high expectations.
The eyeshadows inside are creamy in texture, super duper pigmented and the colour pay off is incredible with very little fall out. All 14 shades blend so well on application and you can create some fabulous looks with this product, wether your after something neautral for everyday or your swaying more towards the berry toned hues for a bold, beautiful evening look. This is definitely a palette that packs in some shades that could possibly put some people on the edge of their comfort zone but I can promise you wether you’re a newbie to makeup or an MUA pro, this thing is so fun to play around with and it will undoubtedly bring out your creative side.

The shades can be worn dry or you can use them wet to add more intensity to your look. I find that the shade ‘Cyprus Umber’ in the palette works really well wet as a deep, coffee coloured liner if you have a good eyeliner brush to use for application. Whichever way you decide to wear the eyeshadows in this palette though, you get amazing pigmentation and you can achieve some fantastic, show stopping looks with ease.
The Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills is my newest addition to my collection but I also have to place it as one of my favourites. I’ve been so impressed with the many different ways you can use this and it’s my new go-to product for everyday use. It’s definitely on the higher end of the market at a retail price of £41.00 but I do think it’s worth the investment and it is truly, without a doubt, a spectacular eyeshadow palette – one of the very best I have ever tried. I had really high expectations for this product after seeing all the hype about it and I have not been disappointed. If anything, it’s exceeded my expectations as the shades are so flattering, the blendability is awesome, once applied it lasts for hours and hours and the shades are really on trend. I’m really pleased this palette has lived up to all the hype and it’s just impossible not to love.
