The Clinique high impact mascara certainly caught my eye when I was lucky enough to be gifted this sample size from my clinique obsessed mother (seriously, she worships this brand). The name of the product alone really drew me in and I couldn’t wait to see what sort of results I would get. I personally really dislike my eyelashes, they are long but they’ve got no natural curl to them whatsoever. I’m therefore always on the look out for a great mascara to give my lashes that much needed boost.
I loved the applicator wand, it coats the lashes evenly and with ease. It’s always a shame when you buy a mascara and you don’t like the applicator wand, so the fact I liked this one was a good start. The product itself is easily build-able on the lashes and I was actually really impressed because I don’t think you could make this go clumpy if you tried (even if you tried super hard). I really dislike clumpy mascara, it’s a pet hate of mine, nobody wants a mixture of clumps and spider legs for lashes do they – it defeats the whole object and looks ridiculous. It’s a real bonus for me personally, that you can go for that more natural everyday look or you can build up the product for a more glam, intense lash effect without that worry of your beautiful lashes clumping together. It didn’t feel heavy when applied and I didn’t find I needed to use a lot of the product to get my desired long, volumised lash effect. I didn’t find that I needed to reapply this mascara throughout the day either, which was a nice plus as it stayed firmly put till I was ready to remove it at the end of the day.
When it came to removing the product, the mascara was easily removable without me having to rub to much at my lashes and irritate my eye area. The eyes are a sensitive area for me and I didn’t feel even an ounce of irritation from using this. I really enjoyed testing out this high impact mascara by Clinique and it’s certainly ranked as one of the better mascara’s I’ve used to date.
Over all, the results from using this product on my lashes were rather impressive. I found it to be really effective in creating the natural, desired length and thickness I was after without my lashes screaming ‘false’, feeling heavy or evidently looking like they’d been caked in product to achieve any sort of definition. I absolutely recommend this mascara and at a retail price of £17.50 for the full size product, I also feel it’s reasonably priced for a higher end makeup item – especially when you consider the quality of the product and the fabulous results it gives.
