Younique offer five different Moodstruck Addiction Shadow palette’s to choose from, this one I have here is the Moodstruck Addiction Palette 4. The product comes boxed, and the actual palette is black all over with the name of the product proudly stated on the front in silver writing. It’s not the most ‘wow’ looking palette from the outside, the packaging is fairly simple, but in a way I kind of like the simplicity of it, it’s not too busy and it’s easy to keep clean. Like most eye shadow palette’s out there, there is a mirror located on the inside of the lid which is always useful to have. The palette contains 6 earthy brown and blue shades so you can always opt for either your warm browns or you can go for your cooler blue/silvery hues. The colours are really pigmented when it comes to application and a small amount of product goes a long way so that’s a big plus for me when reviewing eye shadow products. The Moodstruck Addiction palette doesn’t come with a brush, but Younique actually offer a really good quality, Angled Shadow/Sponge brush for £12.00 which I absolutely adore. I use this brush all the time even with my other eye shadow’s because I personally like the angled shape of the brush and I love the convenient little sponge applicator on the other end. The two ends of the brush make a really good duo and I can see why Younique put them together as one makeup brush.
Anyway, back to the palette, so the seven shades inside this fabulous addiction palette include: Tender, Arrogant, Brave, Secretive, Honest, Cheerful and Triumphant. I actually really love the first one, ‘shimmer’ because it’s a pale champagne colour that’s awesome to use as a base and also doubles up as a gorgeous highlighter for under those brow arches. ‘Arrogant’ and ‘Brave’ are the matte, earthy brown hues in the palette, they are so brilliant for creating an earthy brown smokey eye and I personally also find them really good to use on my brows too. The shade ‘Secretive’ in the palette is a pretty, shimmery bronze colour and it matches really well with the other two earthy browns to make your eyes really stand out with shimmery beautifulness (not sure that’s a word but I’m just going to go with it anyway). This is an eye shadow palette that will compliment all eye colours, I love the earthy hues in this palette, I have green eyes so these colours really make them pop. The shade ‘Honest’ is a light, bluey/silvery metallic shade that looks so dreamy as a base colour and’Cheerful’ and ‘Triumphant’ are deep earthy blues, these darker pigments work great if your looking to create bold, beautiful date night makeup.
[Left to right: Tender (this shade was difficult to capture, especially it’s gorgeous radiance on the photo, but it is there if you look super hard), Arrogant, Brave, Secretive, Honest, Cheerful, & Triumphant]
The Moodstruck Addiction Shadow Palette 4 by Younique on its own, retails at £38.00 or you can choose three out of the five available palette’s from this range for just £101.50. I think for it’s retail price, it’s a really nice addition to anyone’s eye shadow collection and even if the earthy tones aren’t for you, there are five completely different palettes available to have a nosy at, all of them with their own unique set of seven gorgeous shades.
I hope this review was helpful to anyone thinking about buying this palette, I like to be completely honest in all my reviews so that you can make the right decision to suit you.
